This week on the podcast I am re-joined by Amanda McKinney from Marketing Yoga with Confidence. In this episode, Amanda and I are going through the 4 steps plus the pre-step to marketing and launching your online offerings!
Once you’ve created courses, programs or memberships, it’s important to make sure that you get them out into the world so that people can purchase them, and Amanda will walk you through a few simple steps to make this happen.
As we continue to dive into this crazy online world during the COVID-19 health crisis, I hope that this can help you step back and get more strategic with marketing your offerings to your students.
Enjoy!
Discussed in this episode:
- Catching up with Amanda about what she’s been working on since her last appearance on her podcast
- Why offering your services for free is good sometimes, but not all the time
- 5 steps to create an market a yoga offering online:
- Validate your idea – There is more competition online, so you want to invest your energy in creating something unique. Start with ideas that students have asked you for and then check with ideal future students to see if they are interested in the idea.
- Plan your marketing channels – Identify the ways you will communicate with your students about the offering. Are they using FB, IG, are they on your email list?
- Create your marketing plan – Know when you are going to start, when you are going to close, and how far in advance do you need to start marketing. If you’re going to keep it open all year, then pick a couple of times during the year when you will ramp up the marketing.
- Create your marketing content – Create a schedule for your content and then schedule times to sit down and write the posts. If you have it done in advance there it is very easy to follow through
- Don’t give up! – Follow through on what you’ve created. Most people fail from quitting, not from a bad idea or bad execution. Do your work, learn as you go, and follow through on your planned launch.
- How to start from zero and create a marketing plan
- Sit down and write out your different marketing channels (FB, IG, Email, etc.)
- Identify how often you will be using each to reach out to your audience
- Identify the times when you will post/email
- Schedule a time to bulk create the content that you will share
- Why it makes sense to open and close your course registration
- Why you shouldn’t feel overwhelmed by the idea of a big marketing plan and why it gets easier over time
- Taking care of yourself when you’re working hard and launching something
- Check out Amanda’s behind the scenes podcast series on launching a course: https://www.marketingyogawithconfidence.com/post/episode9
- Why being persistent with your email and communication matters
- Why you need to be ready to start before you’re ready
- And much more…Here is the episode
