How to Take Your Yoga Career to the Next Level with Lauren Roegele

I had never met Lauren Roegele before we connected on FaceTime to do an interview for the M.B.Om podcast. We were scheduled to talk at 3pm EST, and around 3:05pm I sent Lauren a quick text to confirm that everything was all good on her end. She was having troubles with Skype and couldn’t get logged in. “No worries”, I told her, “I’ll FaceTime you instead”. We connected on FaceTime, and as we settled in to begin the interview, my computer froze and shut down. Nearly 10 minutes later we were back on the phone ready to go.

What a start to the interview, I thought to myself. Technology didn’t not seem to be on our side.

Being that we were both a bit frazzled by the technology troubles, I was nervous about how the interview would go, but as Lauren began to tell me about her journey into yoga, all tensions and anxiety slipped away.

Lauren has a big, beautiful smile that is instantly contagious and an easy nature that makes her an absolute joy to talk to. Within in mere minutes, I felt as though I had known her for years.

Lauren shared with me how yoga had helped her heal after an extremely traumatic car accident that nearly took her life, and it was during this time of healing that she knew that she wanted to share yoga with other people.

She took me through her life as a full-time yoga teacher, owning a yoga studio, and selling her yoga studio to focus on being a really kickass mom to her daughter, Stella.

She was happy focusing on being a great mom and being a great yoga teacher, until one day, while practicing handstands in her friend’s backyard, YOGO.tv was born. YOGO.tv is an online yoga studio where people can pay a monthly fee to practice yoga from the comfort of their own homes. And, the best part is, that when people watch a featured yoga teachers video, that yoga teacher gets paid. Oh, and it’s Canadian. That’s pretty cool too!

Lauren shared with me all that she has learned from the creation, development and growth of YOGO.tv, and the business lessons that have come along with starting this business. She also told me about her position as the Program Director for the Vancouver School of Yoga, and all that she has learned from this role.

By the end of the interview, I was completely inspired by Lauren and the direction in which she has taken her career. If you are looking to take your yoga career further, check out the podcast episode and the show notes!
