Making Your Yoga Class Feel A Little More Exclusive

Are you someone with a skill to teach? Do you have plenty of time, energy, and motivation to pass on some knowledge to other people, willing to help them out? If so, it’d be a good idea for you to start your own club, tribe, or group! Whether it’s for getting people into an exercise regime like yoga and all its discipline, or showing them how to knit, it’s a good way to bring many learners under the same banner and your tutelage, and then make some good money at the same time. You’re trying to build a brand after all, and if you can’t afford a full time business off this bat, this is a good way to start!

Now’s your time to start succeeding, especially when you’ve been honing your craft for years in a personal manner: yoga has different benefits for everyone, and that’s one thing you can advertise about your classes! So you’re on your way to getting your yoga business thriving, and you’ve got the amazing sign of plenty of people booking up your classes each morning or night. But now you want to go the extra mile… and here’s a few ways you can do that!

See What Other Yoga Classes Are in the Area

If you have other yoga classes near you, it’d be a good idea to go along to a couple of them to see what they offer, and how their teaching style differs to your own. Once you know what the other classes offer, you can strive to be different, and hopefully better. You’re in a competition for members after all, even if it doesn’t feel like it, and you’re going to need to scout out the competition early to make sure you’ve got what it takes to run in the game.

It’s easy, and rather cheap, to go along to a single class with each different teacher there is out there, so don’t sweat this option. You can get a good look of the advantages you have to offer someone looking to get into better shape for only a few dollars here and there, so it’s worth it when you consider the money you’re going to be making back, and the friends you’re going to make amongst your own community.

On the other hand, if you have some qualifications to do with the yoga world on your resume, you can even try to join the class as another teacher. This is a good way to garner some exposure from your potential customer base, and also to gain some good contacts amongst the instructors there already are around you. Tips and tricks can come cheap from these people, and those are invaluable when you’re actually putting your skills to the test; things are always different in theory and in practice!

Have a Membership to Offer (and different ways to get it!)

If you’ve got a membership option for someone to join, your class is going to feel quite exclusive for those who make the choice to pay for extra private sessions. And this helps you to expand your horizons, as you’ll be able to afford more equipment and take on more clients, and thus have more people who could possibly be interested in investing in a higher tier of benefits from you.

At the same time, you can turn it into a lucrative race for people to take, using punch or stamp cards to count how many times someone has attended your class in a row. When they reach the required amount of stamps or punch clips, they get a free membership upgrade. And that is an incentive to keep people coming back, as they don’t have to fork out more money, and they still get more of your time to help them out.

Offer Benefits to Members

Speaking of those benefits people are going to want to consecutively attend or pay for: you’re going to need to come up with some good ones, to make sure your class is worth a customer’s time, and that you’ve got an end product to be proud of. And you can offer all kinds of benefits to someone, whether it’s a free class only members can attend, or some private yoga tutoring, or replaceable mats and equipment if someone ruins or forgets theirs. If you have an idea, offer it your members and get their opinions on it; they’re paying for exclusivity, so it’s all up to them!

If you’ve got the time and money on your hands, you can offer out t-shirts or zip hoodies to people, actually allowing your customers to do half of your branding work for you. And hey, it’s nice to invest in something you believe in, so customers are going to enjoy having merch at their disposal. And it’s easy to customize a plain shirt or purple sweater when you can order logos from Patches4Less, which can be personalized in any way you’d want! That’s quite an exciting thing as a business owner, so definitely look into this option.

Ready to Start a Yoga Class?

People want to exercise more, so why not? But if not, take your time. It’s quite nerve wracking to stand up in front of a gym or church hall full of people ready to learn some expert tips, as you’re going to have to deliver exactly what they want. You’re going to need to be patient, and ready for anything a client can throw your way, and that’s hard for anyone to adapt to during their first time.

So as mentioned above, try joining other classes to get the right feel, and even offer to put your skills to use for someone else. Building your own brand is going to take some expertise, and you should never rush into running a class where people’s health and safety is a top priority.
