Ideas For Taking a Yoga Based Business To The Next Level

If you have a yoga business that you have been doing solo for a while, then the time could be right to take it to the next level. It may be that you want to expand what you are already doing, but still use the name and brand that you have already established. You could also look at franchise options or taking a back seat from teaching, and moving into owning and running a studio, for instance. There are several things that you can do around yoga, that will still help you to keep the base foundation of yoga at the core of the business. Here are some of the things that you could do to help take your business to the next level.

Create a Business Partnership

If you want to make things bigger and better, than often it can just be the money that is going to hold you back from expanding. Plus, if you are able to partner with someone that does a similar thing but covers a different practice of yoga, then you could be onto a good thing, as you can expand your client base with this kind of thing. But much like any partnership, you can’t just partner up with anyone. It has to be someone that shares similar values and goals, and sees the business running in the way that you have envisioned for it. You could have someone in mind to approach for this, or you could recruit and advertise for this role. If the latter does happen, then make sure that you ask some cultural fit questions at interview or when you meet. They may have all of the right qualifications. But asking certain questions will help to see if they are going to fit in with you, and with the vision you have for the business.

Start a Studio

If you have been running yoga classes from your home, local centers, or in other peoples homes, then for you, taking things to the next level could look like opening your own yoga studio. But listen up, it doesn’t have to feel as daunting as it might sound at first! Essentially, what you need is a space large enough for a class to take place; the larger the better. Then space to shower and change, and you’re good to go. You don’t need a lot of fancy equipment if you don’t want to, so things can start off fairly low cost. The key thing is being able to cover the rent of the space that you have hired. So it is making sure that you have enough people coming to your classes, and paying enough, to make it happen. Which is where marketing and advertising comes in to play. This could even be something you do with a partner, as you will all bring your clients with you.

Expand Your Client Base

Being able to take yoga to more and more people is such a good way to boost the business and move things on. You may enjoy doing private sessions or small classes, but have you ever thought about things like classes for children, for example? With mindfulness being such a relevant thing at the moment, and children and teenagers not knowing how to deal with stress or mental health, something like that could be a great idea if presented to schools. There are other ideas too, from hospitals to elderly care homes. All of these people can benefit from the practice of yoga, even if it is only at a very basic level.

For this, it is all about chatting to people, approaching places like schools, and seeing what kind of demand that there is. If there is something, then you can go from there and start doing a variety of classes. It can make your practice and teaching much more varied, and opens you up to a whole new client base too (as the children all have parents), and so on.

Franchise

If you have got an established yoga business and brand in your local area that is working well, then how about helping others to get set up in this too? This can be a great idea for when you need to do more classes to generate more income, but you can’t stretch your timetable any further. You can recruit and vet the people wanting to create a yoga business of their own, but you can help them to get off the ground and use space on your website, for instance. They can use a brand name, and it will help them to get things started. All for a fee that they can pay to you.
