This week on the podcast, I am joined by Allison Rissel. Allison is a yoga teacher and the founder of the Yoga Teacher Conf.
This episode originally aired on M.B.Om: Behind the Scenes, and we are talking about how to cultivate community online!
When the pandemic hit, Allison was forced to transition all of her events online, so she has learned a ton about how to cultivate a thriving online community, and she is sharing her top tips with you today!
Enjoy!
Discussed in this episode:
- We have to be good listeners to cultivate community online
- Listen, ask questions, and start a dialogue from audience responses
- A great way to get people to engage is to ask them questions about themselves (like where they went on vacation last or what their favorite color is)
- When you ask a question, wait six seconds for a response! Someone will usually respond and kick off the discussion!
- Just because someone isn’t engaging with you in the online space doesn’t mean they aren’t watching and listening
- You don’t need a massive following to have a successful, engaged community or a successful business
- And much more… Here is the episode!
