How To Market Your Yoga Business

Have you ever opened the doors to your yoga class only to see very few people walk through the door? Have you ever seen a drop off in numbers, with once regular customers now nowhere to be seen? The problem may be within how you are marketing your business. You see, if you want to attract new members to your yoga class, you do need to make an effort with your marketing, and once you have members, you need to continue marketing your class to them, especially when they have been absent a couple of times.

So, here are a few things you can do, ensuring you end up with a ‘class full’ sign on your door, rather than struggling with poor attendance.

We recommend you use digital marketing, using the internet to source new customers and to stay in touch with old regulars. Considering many people are on their smartphones nearly 24/7, this is undoubtedly one of the best ways to concentrate your efforts. Set up a website, with a blog to raise interest in what your class offers, and a contact page so people can ask you any questions about your class (especially useful for newbies). Link your website to your social media channels, and vice versa, connecting all the many people on your social networking sites with your business. And remember good old-fashioned email (remember when it used to be a modern thing?), and use MailChimp to send out automated reminders about your class to your existing class members and interested parties.

Promote your business to those people who may not know anything about yoga. Aside from using our very helpful tips here, you might also consider filming what your class does and putting a video up on YouTube and on your social media groups (remember to ask permission from your class members). If you have a way with words, you might also consider writing an eBook, explaining what yoga is and how it can benefit others, or you might simply create a leaflet that can be pushed through people’s doors. And you may want to offer a taster session to your class, sending word out through print and internet channels, allowing people to give yoga a try for free!

Advertise your business anywhere and everywhere, using all of the resources available to you. When online, one of the best ways to do this is through Google Ads; a clever way to reach people who would be specifically interested in what you have to offer. Head to this site to learn how to automate Google Ads and to boost your ad campaign. Look for regional websites too, such as those offered by your local newspaper, and advertise your services on there. Then think about traditional media; newspapers, notice boards, industry magazines, etc. and place adverts with any that are appropriate. Yes, it costs money to advertise in some of these places, but considering you should make a profit through marketing, you shouldn’t be too frugal in your approach.

Finally, remember to enlist your current members. Word of mouth marketing is incredibly useful, so ask members to reach out to their friends, both online and off. And give them a leaflet to hand out as well, so they can reach out to people they know well, as well as passersby they meet on the street. A little incentive will help, so when they do start bringing new people to the group, give them a free session, or any other kind of reward as a thank you for their service!

By doing some or all of these things, you should see customers flooding to your doors, and increased success and revenue in your yoga business!
