Interaction Marketing: Promoting Your Business Face to Face

When we live in such a digital age, with much of our businesses being run online- it makes sense that marketing methods would follow. Social media marketing, blogger outreach, video marketing and affiliate marketing can all be incredibly effective and reach a massive amount of people. However as good as these techniques are, others should be overlooked.

For some businesses, it’s actually face to face marketing that’s likely to make the most difference. When you interact with customers and clients in this way it gives them a far more personal experience, they get the chance to see your products or services in action. They can ask questions, and can also get some idea about the way your business is run by the way you present yourself. If you’re looking to incorporate some face to face marketing techniques into your business, here are a few ways you can go about it.

Attend a Trade Show

The great thing about going to a trade show is that the people attending will actively be looking for businesses just like yours. This gives you the opportunity to come into contact with lots of potential new customers and clients. Business expos like this tend to be fairly large and people won’t be able to attend every stall, so the trick is to make yours as interesting as possible. Use a company that specializes in trade show displays to make your overall appearance as inviting as possible. Then spend some time coming up with activities that promote your business in a fun way. It could be games, exciting demonstrations and even magic tricks if you can link them with what you sell. It’s far more interactive than a dull presentation, and if your stall looks interesting people are far more likely to come and visit you.

Run a Family Friendly Event

Running a family friendly event is a great way to get people down to your business. Invite some food vendors to come down, some performers, hire a bouncy castle for the children and run some exciting giveaways. Once you have people at your business relaxed and having fun, you can chat to them about what it is that you do. Hand out things like leaflets and business cards with your information and website so they can check out more at a later date. Demonstrate any products or services that you’re hoping to promote and keep it casual and lively which will allow people to have fun and form a positive impression of your business. You could give away things like balloons, pens, keyrings and umbrellas with your business name on as a further means of promotion.

Go Canvassing

Getting the right people on board your canvassing team is essential. They need to be persuasive and friendly so that people warm to them and take on board what they say. When you’re recruiting for the role, ideally go with those who have experience in working this kind of role with a proven sales record. Going door to door to promote your product or service can be very effective for some businesses, but do your research to find out if it’s likely to work for you and your target market.
