Download the Episode or Subscribe on iTunes!

This week on the podcast I am joined by Katie Brauer. Katie is a yoga teacher, a former professional snowboarder, a former executive of the fastest growing boutique yoga studio in the US and the creator of The Yoga Professional Incubator.

On this episode, Katie and I talk about yoga, the business of yoga, why it’s important to be an “entrepreneur” in the yoga industry, as well as the money side of yoga and how we can blend money and spirituality in a way that feels authentic, and much more.

Enjoy!

In this episode:

  • How Katie found yoga and moved into teaching, eventually owning a studio, and focusing in on helping yoga teachers thrive.
  • How to make sense of your relationship with money as a yoga teacher by leaning into your finances and planning your income and budget.
  • Understanding the financial realities that yoga studio owners and managers face and how it affects what yoga teachers are paid.
  • Thinking about public classes as an initial meeting point with potential students for other offerings.
  • Why Katie decided to create her yoga professional incubator and the problems facing yoga teachers that it is designed to solve.
  • Many yoga teachers struggle with the idea of thinking of themselves as entrepreneurs or running a business, but to succeed in the industry, you need to think about the bigger picture.
  • Why you should track your work as a yoga teacher, so you know how many students are coming to your classes, how many are returning, and the efforts you make to bring new students in so that you can make it easy for yoga studio owners to say yes when you want to run new programs or get a raise.
  • If you want to pitch a workshop, you should put the legwork in to make it easy for a studio manager or owner to say yes. Know the price point, the dates that are free at the studio, and the amount of people you think you can bring in.
  • Committing to personal growth, being a perpetual student, and putting in the extra effort to help your students to is a key to succeeding as a yoga teacher. If you are growing and finding extra ways to help, there will always be new opportunities.

Has your yoga studio’s growth become stagnant? If you’re like many studio owners I talk to, you’ve tried every marketing tactic under the sun. You started a blog, you’re posting regularly on all the social media sites, running challenges, sending out newsletters blah blah blah. Long story short, you’re doing a TON of work… and barely paying the bills.

What if there was an easier way? A way to get new students regularly coming through your door without having do work so darn hard to get them there? A Proven system that will consistently bring in 20+ new paying students to your studio each and every month? Well there is…. Ron Medlin and his team at www.getyogastudents.com have developed a 3-step system that will help you quickly grow your yoga studio to 6-figure profits and beyond without being shackled to your business.
