Chelsey Orth is one of those people that I will forever be grateful to have met. Her smile lights up a room, and her energy is contagious. I’m lucky enough to call her my little sister from another mister.
Chelsey and I met on a plane headed from Taipei, Taiwan to Bali. We had both booked airport pick ups from the guesthouse that was hosting our yoga teacher training, and the guest house had emailed us, telling us that we were on the same flight from Taiwan to Bali.
Chelsey added me on Facebook, and I creeped through some of her photos in hopes that I could identify her. As it turns out, she’s extremely blonde and she stuck out like a sore thumb; a beautiful blonde head bobbing along the sea of Asian heads.
We spent the entire car ride from the airport to the guesthouse chatting, and an hour later, we were friends. We didn’t separate for the next month, and our friendship grew from companionship to sisterhood.
When I decided to start a yoga podcast, I immediately thought about Chelsey.
Sure, Chelsey has teaching for less than a year.
But, Chelsey has an interesting perspective because she immediately jumped into teaching upon returning from her YTT. She’s got this sort of wild woman, gypsy soul way about her, and rather than analyzing, she simply dives in.
This is exactly what she did with teaching yoga. After teaching steadily for 7 months, she tells me about her experiences as a teacher, the things she’s learned, and how she’s grown as a yoga teacher since her very first class.
If you are a new teacher looking for some inspiration, this girl will give it to you. Want to learn more? Check out the episode & the show notes!
