This week on the podcast I am joined by Ron Medlin from Rebel of Growth marketing. You may recognize Ron’s name because he’s been sponsoring the podcast for a number of months! After months of working together, we hopped on call to talk more about marketing for yoga teachers, and how yoga studios can start bringing in more clients AND retaining them.

On this episode, Ron talks about what yoga studios can do to improve their marketing, how yoga studios can get more clients in the door and keep them there, marketing strategies for yoga studios and yoga teachers, and business lessons he’s learned through his career.

Enjoy!

Discussed in this episode:
  • A “value ladder” gets people to take a small step with your business and if they get value out of that, they are willing to spend more money
  • It’s a lot easier to sell people on something when they’re in the door, plus you get to give them a great customer experience when they are there
  • Quick decision pricing – after people come to your yoga studio, you give them an offer that they can’t get elsewhere (this is a private offer!)
  • If you can convince people to come 3 times, they are more likely to become regular members
  • You can start with a free offering, then offer them an intro offer, and then convert them into being regular members
  • Having too many price packages can be super overwhelming for your students – giving too many options actually causes decision fatigue and overwhelms the person trying to choose
  • It’s important to charge for your services so that you can keep offering them!
  • Hiring somebody to help you can be a really good investment
  • You need more people coming through the door and the best way to get people through the door is through marketing
  • Will this strategy bring people into my door today? Will this strategy bring a high volume of people into my studio?
  • If you’re going to run ads, it’s important to run them correctly
  • Make sure you are capturing contact information – name, email, phone number
  • Follow up as soon as you can!
  • Follow up on a channel that people will actually see the follow up – this is where text message marketing comes in
  • Use your marketing to connect with your clients and make them feel welcome and comfortable in the yoga studio
  • Facebook is the best place to advertise to get more people through your door because it reaches more people
  • Emojis are cheesy, but they work for getting people’s attention with copy
  • Good copy comes from really getting to know your audience and who you are speaking to!
  • Think about what your biggest challenge is and then pull out keywords and that will be your copy for your marketing
  • Start your marketing where the money is – reach out to the people who know and trust you and want to engage with you
  • Simplify things and streamline everything as much as you can
  • Remember that as a yoga teacher, you are your own brand! Your personal brand is super important to being successful as a yoga entrepreneur.
  • And much more… Here’s the episode!

I am very excited to announce a brand new partnership with Ana Luisa! Ana Luisa is a quality jewelry brand that uses recycled gold to make their products. As a yoga teacher with a new business, I haven’t splurged on myself in years. I always end up buying cheap jewelry that doesn’t last, and that’s why I am so happy that I discovered Ana Luisa! They make pieces for everyday wear and beautiful pieces for all your events. The best part is that they are offering YOU a discount. Head on over to analuisa.com/mbom and treat yourself (because you’re worth it!).

It’s STILL just your yoga; teachers add classes, students add teachers, and teachers and students stay connected.
