Yes, we know your working day is probably the bane of your life. Work is hard, but it’s something that we all have to do if we want to be successful. However, considering we’re going to be spending the majority of our lives working, we are obviously going to want to try and make things a little bit easier. Luckily for you, it isn’t actually that hard to do.
We’ve got some great tips that should make the whole process of working so much easier for you. Here they are:
Computers Are Bad
If you think a working day is hard, then we guarantee you’ll be struggling because you’re stuck behind a computer all day. You could really enjoy the work that you’re doing, but it’s being stuck in front of a computer, and probably doing the same thing day in day out that’s going to be getting you down.
So, if your role involves being in front of a computer all day, what do you think we can do about this? Well for one, you’re entitled to a certain amount of breaks every hour to get yourself away from the computer. Every hour, take five minutes to have a stroll around. You’re going to particularly benefit from this if you’re getting to that point in the afternoon where your eyes just can’t help but close. It’s the worst time of the day, and we don’t know how we even get through it!
You can also think of quirky ways of keeping yourself moving, even if you are stuck behind a desk. For one, you can use an anti fatigue mat to get your moving about. The best anti fatigue mat will be one that’s durable, and one that actually does the job properly. Some of them are so poor in quality, that you might as well be getting a yoga mat. You can also get the desks that stand up and sit down. As much as standing up sounds like a chore, we guarantee it’s going to be a welcome break for you if you’ve been sat down all day. That numb bum that you’ve been suffering with will be no more! However, if all of that seems like a lot, then just taking your 5 minute break every hour should be enough. You’ll feel so refreshed, and it can stop issues such as computer induced migraines occurring.
Give Yourself A Break
We’re not talking about the five minute break that we’ve already discussed, we’re talking about getting away from the work environment altogether. We know you’re going to be entitled to some holiday, but there are some of you out there that will never take it, purely because you don’t have a holiday to go on. But that’s not what going on a break from work is all about. If you’re allowed to have some paid time off of work, we highly recommend you take it. Even if you just find yourself sat at home, it’s better than being in the office environment after you’ve been stuck in it for far too long. Maybe even just take a long weekend every month to use the holiday up. When you come back to work, we guarantee you’ll feel nice and refreshed!
Learn Some New Skills
Sometimes you just need to learn some new skills to make the working day more exciting. If you’re someone who has been stuck in the same role for years, doing the same tasks every day, then we don’t know how you’re actually getting through your working day! All you have to do is ask, and we guarantee the people you work for will be more than happy to pile on some extra tasks to your workload. Even if you don’t get paid anymore for it, it’s still better than doing the same thing over and over. The great thing about this one is that with new skills, comes new opportunities. Whether you start thinking about progressing within your own company, or whether you decide to start moving jobs, at least you have more transferable skills to offer, which is always going to make you more employable.
Make New Friends
There’s a few types of offices/jobs out there. There are the offices that don’t allow any talk, it’s just strictly work. These are possibly the worst offices to be in, your day is only going to drag! There are also the offices that encourage a bit of chit chat, as long as the work is being done throughout the day. If your office is the latter, then you really are lucky. However, how many people do you actually talk to. Do you just have a bit of small talk, or are they people who you can really gel with, and actually enjoy your time with? If they’re not, then go in search of some new friends through work. It could make the day go so much faster if you have people there that you can share common ground with.
Do you feel like you can get through the working day, or would you still struggle!?
