Yoga Business 101: Moving Studios

A yoga business has to resemble its teachings. It needs to be flexible, productive and efficient. Otherwise, the downward looking dog pose is going to collapse underneath the weight of failure. Moving studios is an answer that helps to keep a company fresh and vibrant. New surroundings inject a sense of renewed enthusiasm while supporting the business to stand out from the crowd. Picking a studio isn’t the same as choosing a home, mainly because it serves a different function. It’s not a straightforward thing to do yet it’s necessary for the sake of the company. So, here are the basics of moving out of one studio and into another.

Feel It Out

The obvious elements to factor in include price, location, and the amount of space. As a general rule, there should be plenty of room for activities in a good area that is affordable. This is the Holy Grail scenario, which is why it’s important to be realistic when viewing potential properties. You may have to compromise on one to get the other two. Another neat trick is to take a class in the studio. This gives you a feel of the atmosphere and helps to connect with space.

Clear And Clean

At some point, you’ll have to leave the current studio and move into a new one. At this point, it’s vital that everything of use makes the trip and isn’t left behind. Plus, the old space needs to be clean enough for another business to use. At the least, it can’t be dirty and full of mess. In short, everything needs clearing away and then it’s time to clean. Office Cleanz can help with the latter because there is no point wasting the hours. Anyway, it’s as affordable as doing it yourself. To clear the equipment, you can hire a rental company such as Sixt or Hertz. Don’t forget to rent out storage space, too.

Negotiate The Timing

No entrepreneur wants to get kicked out of their offices until there is a readymade replacement. Of course, life doesn’t work this way and the two timings never seem to blend. The good news is that there is a new start on the horizon, whereas the bad news is that you will lose money. With that in mind, don’t be afraid to call the landlord and negotiate a deal. If they haven’t found a renter yet, ask for a rolling contract, then, the company has the flexibility to turn a profit while waiting for the keys.

Start Advertising

Picture the scene. You’ve moved premises and are ready to start afresh. The only problem is that the clientele isn’t aware of this and continue to turn up to the old studio. As silly as it sounds, this happens more than you can imagine. Always advertise the fact that the business is moving and publish the details by adding it as an urgent notice to the website. Then, print flyers and stick them on the doors of the old property. Do it weeks in advance to give them the best chance to see the info.

Are you in the process of moving? How are you finding it?
